Enter the Swarovski Bino Suspenders, which disperse weight throughout the upper body area to provide relief for the neck area. Ideal for hiking, birdwatching, and any other activity where you need your binoculars in a ready position for long stretches, the Bino Suspenders are comfortable and lightweight, with straps that reach over the shoulders and meet in the center of the back. The suspenders also include a snap lock that makes it easy to attach and detach your binoculars.

The Bino Suspenders are available for the following Swarovski models: SLC 56, SLC 50, SLC 42, SLC 30, EL 32, and EL 42.

About Swarovski Optik
Although founded in 1949, Swarovski Optik's roots actually trace all the way back to 1895, when Austrian Daniel Swarovski--who invented the world's first electric grinding machine for jewelry stones--established the family-owned Swarovski Crystal in the province of Tyrol. Since then, the name Swarovski has become synonymous worldwide with the clearest crystal, precision grinding, and a brilliant spirit of innovation, as the original enterprise continued branching out into additional lines of business.

Swarovski Optik owes its rise to Wilhelm Swarovski, son of the original founder and an avid hobby astronomer, who decided to build his own improved binocular in 1935 at a mere 17 years of age. With access to the specialized glass production and finishing technologies already used to manufacture jewelry stones in his father's factory, Wilhelm managed to develop a novel prism fabrication and grinding process that he applied in constructing his first 6x30 binocular. Wilhelm went on to found Swarovski Optik KG in Absam, Tyrol, in 1949, thus laying the foundation for a sports optics company with a global reputation. His company's first serial product, the Habicht 7x42, is still an industry standard in the field of hunting optics and continues to be produced in the best tradition of its founder.

Tracking equipment could be harming wild birds, experts warn

Studies on other birds fitted with these devices are also warranted because we do not know whether kites have a predisposition to develop these lesions in association with harnesses or whether other birds are at risk." Ian Carter, a co-author of the

Perspectives: Bird's eye view: New zip line ride offers unique experience

09.07.11

I'm not much of a thrill-seeker (it takes a lot of convincing to get me on a roller coaster) and I wouldn't categorize myself as the "outdoorsy" type, either (I don't like bugs, snakes, etc.).

But when my editor approached me about riding the new zip line at the Wilds and writing a story about it, I just knew I had to jump at the opportunity.

One of our interns, Anna Gibbs, 16, a student at Williamstown High School, went with me to the Wilds on Wednesday, and she, too, rode the zip line.

We arrived a little before 9:30 a.m. for our 10 a.m. zip line tour. The first thing we did was sign a waiver. I don't remember what all it said but I know for sure it said something like "you could die from doing this.

Premier Feather Tether Bird Harness?

by chick

I've only used the aviator, and yes they are very expensive, but since your fingers are majorly at stake, and the instructional dvd is pretty awesome (not sure if they all come with help), and they withstand an awful lot of chewing......I'd suggest save up for the best. The elastic thingy is very helpful too. I had previously gotten a cheap one (don't know the brand) for my GCC (have an aviator, that will most likely never see a full "install") and it was nothing in comparison. Have a feeling harness training will be a complete no go with...
